All documents that are posted on this page are in public domain. They can be downloaded and distributed freely since most of the information that is gathered here are obtained from public domain sites anyway. Hopefully you will find that they are rearranged and reproduced in a more presentable format with a story put behind them in an easy to view environment. Aşık Veysel Şatıroğlu: Veysel Şatıroğlu was born in 1894 in Sivrialan, a village of
Sivas, district of Şarkışla. He is a folk poet and a national icon in Turkish culture. In this ".wmv" clip you will find a short narrative of his life, philosophy and contributions to Turkish folk culture. You can view this clip directly from the web site. Find out in this synthesis of Irish Folk music and dances from Dublin region of Ireland (River Dance) with Turkish folk music and dances from Trabzon (Black Sea Coast) region of Turkey (Horon). This is a long file so I suggest you click, download, save and watch. In this ".mpg" clip (Windows Media Player file) you will find a perspective on classic Turkish folk dance (HORON) from a province on the North East coast of Karadeniz (Black Sea coast) interpreted with the folk songs and dances originating from Dublin Ireland region.
